New coach Rishadi Shedu remains confident they will gun down Ulinzi Stars on Saturday two weeks after eliminating the soldiers from KPL Top 8
Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) coach Rishadi Shedu will lead the side into his first game in charge when they take on Ulinzi Stars at Afraha Stadium in Nakuru on Saturday.
Shedu, who has led the side to two training sessions since taking over on Thursday as exclusively revealed by Goal, believes a win against the soldiers will totally shift their confidence to the upper side.
The bankers’ beat Ulinzi Stars 2-1 in KPL Top 8 quarter-final two weeks ago and though Shedu believes they can do a double over the soldiers, he says it will be tough.
“If we manage to win against Ulinzi, it will be a huge boost as it will motivate us going forward. I know we beat them in Top 8 Cup and this time they will come seeking for revenge. It will be a tough game for us.
“Ulinzi is a very good team and the very fact that they are struggling should be reason enough for us to expect it tough.”
Shedu says the big task will start next week noting that for the weekend game, there is not much he can change. “I have had only two training sessions on Thursday and we did not train today (Friday).
“That is not enough time for me to effect many changes on the team but only work on boosting their confidence. The real work of making changes to how we play begins next week.”
