KPL and the sports merchandise company are on a three year deal which started in 2012 and will see PUMA give balls to all the teams in the league

2014 Kenyan Premier League match balls were officially launched on Tuesday by KPL alongside ball sponsors PUMA.

KPL and the sports merchandise company are on a three year deal which started in 2012 which will see PUMA give match balls to all the teams in the league.

KPL chairman Ambrose Rachier has lauded the union between KPL and PUMA as saying it will go a long way in reducing the financial burdens of clubs.

“This is a whole huge budget cut out from clubs because they will not be buying their own balls. It is a great move and I want to thank PUMA for the gesture,” Rachier told Goal.

Kenya FA President Sam Nyamweya asked the sports merchandise company to delve more into other leagues and extend the same sponsorship.

“We have the National Super League which is very exciting and we also have lower leagues. I would like to call on PUMA to look beyond the premier league and go into other leagues as well.”

Each club in the premier league will receive 20 balls from KPL in the deal that ends in 2015.
