Two Eritrea national team players have sneaked out of camp and are suspected to be seeking asylum in Kenya.

The two, who are yet to be identified, left when the team members turned up to watch Saturday's matches at Nyayo Stadium and their whereabouts remain a mystery.

Council for East and Central Africa Football Association (Cecafa) Secretary General Nicholas Musonye revealed to Goal that they are aware of the incident which has already been reported to the authorities.

"We were informed of their disappearance and have reported to the right authorities so that action can be taken. It is disappointing that we always have a problem with the Eritrean delegation over this same issue," said Musonye.

Last year, almost the entire Eritrean team disappeared from camp when they travelled to Uganda for the same tournament. Those who disappeared later sought assylum in Kampala.
