Football Kenya Federation has finally landed a title sponsor for this year's Council of East and Central Africa Senior Challenge Cup scheduled for Nairobi from November 27 to December 12.
Goal can exclusively reveal that the sponsor will be unveiled next week just three weeks before the tournament kicks-off in various towns in the country.
According to FKF President Sam Nyamweya, the final hurdle in hosting the two week competition has finally been taken care off and he thanked all those who have come out to support their hosting bid.
"I can confidently say that the title sponsors will be unveiled next week. This will go a long way in us hosting a successful tournament in Kenya. We want to thank all those who have stood by us and supported this bid in every way.
"I also want to confirm that all the twelve countries have confirmed participation and we are now putting in place final touches to have a successful competition.”
Nyamweya said local organizing committee will carry out an inspection tour of Nakuru's Afraha Stadium this weekend and expressed delight that renovation work at Moi Stadium in Kisumu is on schedule.
"The renovation work is going on very well and the facility should be ready very soon way before the tournament kicks-off.”
Machakos County are also putting final touches to renovation work on Machakos Municipal Stadium. The county governor Alfred Mutua said they have put in over Sh10 million to rehabilitate Kenyatta Stadium, which is one of the venues to host the competition.
