Ingwe coach James Nandwa reveals to Goal that Erick Masika and Martin Imbalambala will sit out of tie against KCB due to injury and suspension
AFC Leopards’ will miss the services of defender Eric Masika and Martin Imbalambala when they take on Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) in a Premier League clash at Nyayo Stadium on Sunday.
Masika will sit out with an injury while Imbalambala has accumulated yellow cards. Head coach James Nandwa is optimistic that he has enough cover to replace the duo and that Ingwe will beat KCB, who are enjoying a great performance this season sittting third on the log with 35 points.
“Masika and Imbalambala will not feature against the bankers. Masika is struggling with an injury while Imbalambala remains suspended. We have enough cover for the duo and fans should not panick.
“Every coach would want to win all matches and I hope we achieve that on Sunday," Nandwa told Goal.
On a positive note, Nandwa, who doubles as Harambee Stars' assictant coach, will welcome midfield maestro Peter ‘Pinchez’ Opiyo, who resumed training with the team after his aborted move to the Middle East.
"He (Opiyo) has trained with the squad for a full week and we'll just see how it goes, but he's available for selection," affirmed Nandwa.
Ingwe are place seventh on the 16-team table standings after collecting 32 points and Sunday’s clash is a must win for Nandwa, who took charge at the den following the sacking of Luc Eymael.
