Gor Mahia will be looking for their first Kenyan Premier League victory in four matches when they host Chemelil Sugar at Nyayo Stadium on Saturday.
The league leaders have not won since August 17 when they thrashed Muhoroni Youth 3-0 at City Stadium. That result was followed by draws against arch-rivals AFC Leopards and Sony Sugar and a defeat to champions Tusker that has left K’Ogalo needing to win on Saturday at all costs.
The league leaders will be inspired by last weekend's 2-0 win over Thika United in a GOtv Shield Cup match with coach Bobby Williamson expected to give influential midfielder Patrick Oboya his first league start after an impressive performance against the Brooke side sponsored side.
Oboya was in a class of his own scoring one of the two goals and will also want to impress on the league front. Chemelil can comfortably focus on the league after being bundled out of GOtv Cup by AFC Leopards’ last weekend.
Chemelil have shown great ability to bring down top sides this season and can do the same against Gor Mahia. Coach Mike Mururi has the men who can dare to frustrate Gor Mahia with Joseph Mwaniki and Georson Likonoh expected to give their opponents trouble.
