Ingwe striker says the team has managed to avoid pressure they were in last season when they topped table standings and warns rivals to watch out
AFC Leopards’ striker Allan Wanga believes the team has the best chance to win the Kenyan premiership trophy this season.
Wanga says the team has managed to avoid the pressure they were in last season by staying behind in the standings and he says this gives them a great opportunity to make a more successful bid for the title towards the end.
“Last season, the pressure killed us. Staying at the top was not easy and eventually we could not sustain it. I am glad we don’t face the same problem this year and this gives us a perfect opportunity to clinch the title,” Wanga told Goal.
Wanga, who has so far scored four goals for Leopards’, said the team is playing their best football and improving with every game and warned their opponents to watch out with six games to go before the season ends.
“We are having a great time at the moment and expect to hit our peak with six matches to go. At this point when we are at the top of the standings nothing will stop us from taking the title.”
Leopards are currently third in the standings with 30 points. The team further cruised to the second round of the GOtv shield tournament on Saturday after thrashing Wazee wa Kazi 5-0.
