As the Kenya Premier League Under-19 competition nears, Ulinzi Stars have set out trial dates to build a strong team for the tournament.
Ulinzi finished fourth in the inaugural tournament held in 2011 and they will be seeking to better that performance this year.
According to the team’s Vice-Chairman Major Erick Oloo, the trials will be staged on Thursday at Afraha Stadium, Nakuru, from 9am and will be open to all interested.
“We want to build up a strong team and we will undertake the trials on Thursday morning. We invite all upcoming footballers who want to be part of Ulinzi Stars team to come out for the trials. They should also come with their birth certificates for us to ascertain their ages,” Major Oloo told Goal.
“We were fourth in 2011 and this year we would want to better that improvement. Our senior team technical bench will undertake the trials and we trust that we will get the best team.”
The competition is set to start early August and is fully funded by Kenya Premier League (KPL). Thika United are the holders of the tournament after they beat Sony Sugar in the finals of the inaugural tourney.
