The Kenyan, who joined the Tanzanian outfit from Sofapaka, is set to miss the start of the Vodacom League after picking up injury in pre-season training
Kenyan international and Azam midfielder Humphrey Mieno will be out of action for a month after picking up injury in pre-season training.
The Tanzanian giants Azam have also been dealt a major blow as another of their top strikers Kipre Tchetche, who was the top scorer in last year, will miss the start of the season through injury.
Mieno joined Azam last year from Sofapaka. Azam Coach Stewart Hall had fallen in love with the midfielder while working for Sofapaka though on a short stint hence warranting his move to the Tanzanian league giants.
Mieno extended his initial one-year loan deal that expired at the end of the season.
Azam is now faced with the task of finding another striker before the Tanzanian transfer window closes with another of their strikers John Bocco yet to recover fully.
The mega rich Azam, who finished second in the league last year behind eventual champions Yanga, will kick start their campaign on August 24 against Mtibwa Sugar.
