The Belgian tactician reveals to Goal.com that the former Harambee Stars striker will soon end his dry spell in front of goal as they prepare for Mathare fixture
AFC Leopards’ coach Luc Eymael has backed striker Allan Wanga to start banging in goals after going the current campaign without finding the back of the net.
The former Harambee Stars striker has come increasingly under pressure from Ingwe fans, but Eymael is quick to note that all strikers have their dry spell and Wanga’s is on its way to end.
Eymael adds that Wanga has been putting so much pressure on himself but notes that he has had a chat with him and advised him accordingly.
“Allan is one of the best strikers in the country. He is very hard working both in the match and in training. I believe his scoring time will come though at the moment he is having a difficult time. I am very sure that when he scores, you will see a different Allan going forward,” Eymael told Goal.com.
“He has been putting so much pressure on himself. When he misses one chance, he gets too angry with himself and he ends up missing a second because of lack of concentration. I have talked to him about that and told him not to kill himself with pressure.”
Looking forward to the match against Mathare United on Saturday, the Belgian says his team will be out to continue with the winning run they picked up from their 1-0 win against Ulinzi last weekend.
“Mathare is not an easy team but we are determined to continue winning and also to improve from last weekend’s performance. We have to build from level to level and I feel we have started the journey.”
