A total of 30,000 tickets will be availed for the Kenya Premier League (KPL) derby between AFC Leopards and Gor Mahia at Nyayo Stadium on Sunday.
The tickets start selling on Saturday morning at Nyayo and City Stadia, Kenya Cinema and Nyati House. According to AFC Leopards secretary general Winston Kituyi, VIP tickets will go at Sh600 while terrace tickets will retail for Sh300.
“We urge fans to turn out in large numbers on match day and make sure they buy their tickets early to avoid commotion at the gate,” said Kituyi.
Kituyi has also warned that hawking will not be allowed inside the stadium and security will be enhanced.
Touching on the violence that erupted during their Top 8 match against Chemelil, Kituyi said the club will boost the number of Stewards to 136 to complement the 300 police officers that will be deployed on that day.
Meanwhile, Davies Omweno will be the man at the centre for the derby. Omweno, a Fifa accredited referee just fresh from the African U-17 Championships; will be assisted by other Fifa accredited lines men.
Aden Marwa who officiated in the African Cup of Nations in January, will be the first assistant referee while Peter Kiereini will be the second assistant.
