Apul, has been named as the April-May player of the month after Mulinge Ndetto scooped the award last month.
“Apul has been in great form and he has performed his defensive midfield duties very well. Many people have been seeing the defense as the best of the team but the truth is Apul has been doing most of the work.”
“His work rate is great and he is like the back bone of the team,” Ulinzi Chairman Lt. Col. Juma Mwinyikai told the club’s official website.
For his efforts, Apul who missed most of the second leg last year with a broken toe will be rewarded with a cash award, a pair of new mercurial boots and a T-shirt. Speaking after the award, Apul said this is a challenge for him to work harder.
“I feel great and happy with this award and I want to improve on the performance I have had for the first ten games. It is a challenge for me to work harder.”
Ulinzi Stars started the awards scheme to motivate players and encourage others to work hard.
