The former Sofapaka and Mathare United tactician has challenged his charges to forget Saturday's defeat to Karuturi and focus on beating champions Tusker
After seeing his side suffer third league defeat of the season against neighbors Karuturi Sports, Ulinzi Stars Coach Salim Ali is now regrouping his side to face defending champions Tusker FC on Saturday.
Ali has admitted that they have a striking crisis but has chosen to keep faith in his strikers urging patience noting that they are capable of turning things around.
“We have to be patient with our strikers because we are in a transition and whatever we are trying to implement cannot happen in one day,” Ali told the club’s official website
“We simply have to be patient with the strikers because they are the same ones who have been scoring in the past seasons and we don’t have to put them under pressure.”
Looking back at the match against Karuturi, the former Sofapaka and Mathare United coach said he was disappointed with how the players performed in the second half.
“We played very well in the first half and created very many chances. However, it was a different team that played the second half. Karuturi had about three shots on target and two of those were goals. They simply used their chances but for us we wasted ours.”
So far, Ulinzi Stars have won only three out of ten matches, drawing four and losing three.
