Kenyan Premier League (KPL) side AFC Leopards have cancelled a scheduled friendly against Division One club Administration Police due to the latter's poor state of the pitch on Saturday.
Leopards coach Luc Eymael said the match could not go on because of the great danger it would have exposed his players to.
He told Goal.com:"I refused to play the match on this pitch since it has no trace of grass making it too dangerous for my players who risked injury playing there."
With most league matches having been postponed due to a short break, teams in the KPL are opting to play build up matches this weekend.
Furthermore, the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Cup was also supposed to kick-off this weekend but has been postponed to June 1.
The league proper resumes next weekend as teams fight for top positions and also avoid relegation.
