Harambee Stars to start training on Saturday

Coach Adel Amrouche releases training programme for the Kenyan team in readiness for the decisive World Cup qualifier against Nigeria set for June 5

Kenya team Harambee Stars will move to camp on Saturday to start preparations for the decisive World Cup qualifying match against Nigeria’s Super Eagles in Nairobi on June 5.

Coach Adel Amrouche, who has already named a 25 member squad of local based, released a training programme on Thursday ahead of the battle against the African champions.

Amrouche’s squad as new faces among them Thika United forward Kennedy Otieno, Chemelil Sugar's Daniel Mutai, Ben Barasa (Sony Sugar), David Mwaura (Mathare United) and Benedict Owuor (KCB).

The coach also recalled Gor Mahia custodian Jerim Onyango, who with the absence of suspended Arnold Origi, will fight for the goalkeeping spot alongside Sofapaka’s Duncan Ochieng, Wilson Obungu (Bandari) and Martin Musalia (AFC Leopards).

Kenya must beat Nigeria in Nairobi if they are to keep alive their chances of qualifying for the 2014 World Cup to held in Brazil. Kenya are currently bottom of the table with 2 points and defeat to the Africa champions will mean they are out of contention.
