A statement from KPL offices confirms that the unavailability of Moi Kasarani, has forced the premiership match to be switched to Afraha Stadium on Saturday
The Kenyan Premier League match pitting defending champions Tusker FC and Western Stima has been switched to the Afraha Stadium in Nakuru, due to the unavailability of the initial venue.
The match scheduled for Saturday, had been planned for Kasarani but its unavailability prompted the match to be moved.
A statement from KPL secretariat read in part, “Due to the unavailability of Kasarani, City and Nyayo stadia’s, Match number 7 involving Tusker and Western Stima shall now be played at Afraha.”
Kasarani will be closed this weekend while Nyayo Stadium will be hosting a corporate event. The City Stadium, the only other venue at the City, will be hosting the launch of the Copa Coca Cola Youth Championships.
The match will be screened live on Supersport. There will be only two other league matches this weekend. Ulinzi Stars will take on Karuturi Sports in the Rift derby while Gor Mahia will be in Mumias to face off with newcomers Kakamega Homeboyz.
This weekend had been set aside for the FKF Cup but the same is yet to be launched.
