Kimani’s goal brought Leopards back into the match and it came at a time the club was going through a difficult moment helping to restore the hopes of millions of fans who follow the team.

Honourable Mention

Ismael Dunga – Tusker

Dunga scored the goal of the week when he put his side ahead against AFC Leopards. The former Sony Sugar striker chested Joseph Shikokoti’s cross in the 38th minute before turning with precision to score a goal that will be on television replays for a long time. Though his side did not win, Dunga will be delighted at his wonderful goal.

Marwa Chamberi - Sony Sugar

Chamberi put Sony ahead during the team's 1-1 draw against Gor Mahia at City Stadium with a text book performance which proved once again that he still has plenty to offer despite his age. Last Sunday, Chamberi set up the goal which drowned Tusker and remains key in Sony’s improvement after a poor start to the season. He continues to give coach Sammy Omollo plenty of options upfront.

John Baraza– Sofapaka

Barasa scored his second goal of the season during Sofapaka’s 3-1 win over Nairobi City Stars at City Stadium. The veteran striker continues to baffle KPL pundits with his never die attitude and puts in a performance that will shame strikers almost half his age. Last season, he emerged the top scorer in the KPL and looks set to repeat the fete if his scoring trend continues.

It won't necessarily be the best player in the country - at least not usually - but whoever we crown will have accomplished something amazing. It might be for a particularly awesome performance or for something praiseworthy off the pitch - either way, the person in question deserves special attention...
