The management of Nyayo Stadium has banned Ingwe from using the venue following Wednesday's pitch invasion by fans that forced a match to be called off

The Management of Nyayo Stadium has suspended AFC Leopards' from using the venue following Wednesday night’s pitch invasion by irate fans, who caused the abandonment of a KPL Top 8 match against Chemelil Sugar.

A statement from Kenya Premier League (KPL) confirmed that AFC Leopards match against defending champions Tusker will now be played at City Stadium on Saturday.

The match will be broadcasted Live on Supersport and will be preceded by that pitting City Stars and Sofapaka starting at 2pm.

“Kindly note that Nyayo Stadium has cancelled hosting any AFC Leopards matches due to pitch invasion by their fans. Therefore, AFC’s league match against Tusker has been moved to City Stadium,” stated the statement.

On Wednesday, AFC Leopards fans invaded the pitch baying for the blood of match referee Peter Waweru, whom they accused of biased officiating.

The fans attacked the referee and his assistants forcing the match to be called off with three minutes to go and Chemelil Sugar leading 3-2.

In other league match set for Saturday, newcomers Kakamega Homeboyz will entertain Muhoroni Youth in Bukhungu while Bandari will host Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) at Mbaraki Stadium.

On Sunday, Gor Mahia will host Sony Sugar at City Stadium, Thika United take on Karuturi Sports at Thika Municipal Stadium, Western Stima confront Chemelil while Mathare United will play Ulinzi Stars at City Stadium.
