Kenyan U-18 midfielder Said Abdallah Hisham has signed a two year contract with top Hungarian club Újpest FC.
Said is a former Aspire Academy player and he joins the team through Aspire scouts who linked him to the club from Qatar.
Said joined Aspire at the age of 15 and was called into the national U-17 team in 2010 but was not able to link up with the squad owing to injury.
According to the club’s official website ujpestfc.hu, the midfielder will be part of Ujpest B and will make his full debut for the purple and white club when the reserve league commences.
“My dream was to play in Europe and I'm very happy to get this opportunity at Újpest. I would like to thank my family for their support in making my dream of signing a contract with a team in Europe come true."
Said has outlined his desire to don the national team colors and says apart from working hard to join the senior team, he will be keeping in mind the idea of playing for Harambee Stars.
"I've been invited to the junior national team, but I could not go because of injury. I hope that in future, there will be the opportunity to represent my country."
"Kenyan football is not as well known, but I think it has continued to grow from strength to strength. I would like to represent my country more often and that remains my dream."
