Kenyan champions Tusker face a formidable task when they take on Egyptian and African giants Al-Ahly in the return leg match of the Caf Champions League in Alexandria on Sunday (kick-off 8pm Kenya time).

The Kenyan side go into the match needing to overturn a 2-1 goal deficit they suffered in the first leg two weeks ago.

It means Tusker have to win Sunday's match by at least three goals to make it to the second round.

Despite the seemingly impossible task coach Robert Matano has expressed confidence he can do it.

Matano said he is keeping faith with his boys to cause what would be one of the biggest upsets in African football.

"We can still qualify if we score early goals. Our plan is to get two quick goals that will get us back into the match and give us a good head start," Matano told Goal.com from Cairo.

"We haven't ruled out our possibilty on winning here despite it being a different kind of venue. We are here for a win."

"Al Ahly have a good team. They possess great skill but the bottom line is we have to get past them in order to progress and this is our mission when we face them on Sunday."

Matano insists that nothing is impossible for his side and he still remains determined to help his side improve on last year's performance when they were edged out in the first round of the competition.

Matano's sentiments were echoed by captain Joseph Shikokoti who said, "We still have a chance to progress and all we need is to take our chances unlike first leg where we failed to convert. We have learnt from our mistakes and we'll do a good job."

This is the second year in a row that Tusker are representing the country in the Champions League. Last year, they were edged out by APR of Rwanda continuing a poor performance by Kenyan clubs in the competition.

Goalkeeper Boniface Oluoch is back in the Tusker squad and will be trusted to keep a clean sheet in Cairo to help his side overcome.

At the back, the Tusker defense will need to be alert and avoid the kind of lapse which saw them concede easy goals in the first leg.
