AFC Leopards Chairman Alex Ole Magelo has brushed off suggestions that he will quit his current role at the club after being elected the Speaker of Nairobi County assembly.
Magelo, who has been involved in politics for the past decade as a civic leader, lost out in a bid to win a parliamentary seat at the just concluded elections, but bounced back to clinch the Nairobi County Assembly Speaker's seat on Friday.
This development has led to speculation that the football administrator, in his second stint at the popular top flight club, would 'step down' to concentrate on his ever busy schedule.
"I am not stepping down, actually I have plans to improve the team and stabilize the current league campaign, the players say they missed me when I was away."
"Their is no rule that says I should not serve in both positions," Magelo told Goal.com.
The current National Executive team's term in office expires in June and plans are already underway to hold fresh elections under the new constitution on either June 29 or 30.
