Gor Mahia forward Dani 'Muzeyi' Sserunkuma has dropped from the traveling party of the Ugandan Cranes ahead of the crucial World Cup qualifier against Liberia on Saturday.

Sserunkuma, alongside seasoned defender Simoen Masaba and fellow forward Hamis Kiiza were amongst the three players axed from the team.

Earlier, Joackins Atudo's teammate at Azam Brian Omony and Portugal-based midfielder William Kizito had also been exempted from the traveling party.

"Dani wont be coming with us, unfortunately," Cranes coach Bobby Williamson told

"However, all is not lost and if he works on his fitness, the door will always be open to him as he's got immense talent."

The dreadlocked midfielder, who finished last season as second highest scorer in the Kenyan top flight league, has struggled to nail a starting spot, following a surge in form with K'Ogalo coach Zdravko Logarusic instead, preferring the partnership of Rama Salim and new signing Mungai Kiongera.

Uganda is second in its Group in the qualifiers after garnering two points same as third placed Angola and one above Liberia while Senegal lead with four points.

The Cecafa champions first two games in the group, in the race to qualify for the Fifa World Cup have ended in identical 1-1 draws away to Angola and at home to Senegal.
