Harambee Stars captain Dennis Oliech will be the first foreign-based player to join Kenya camp ahead of their World Cup qualifier against Africa champions Nigeria on March 23.

Oliech, who recently signed a deal with French Ligue one side AC Ajaccio, is expected in Nairobi on Tuesday (today), almost ten days before he was due to arrive.

His manager Nixon Onywanda said the player has decided to come early after picking a red card during last weekend’s league match and is therefore, not eligible to play this weekend.

“He is already in Paris waiting for a connecting flight to Nairobi. We expect him in Nairobi on Tuesday evening well in time for the Nigeria match,” he told Goal.com.

Onywanda said the player will not immediately join Stars' camp as he has to attend to some personal issues before linking up with the team.

“The other reason he has come early is to sought out some personal issues so that he can be free to concentrate on national duty. He will probably link up with the squad by Friday.”

The rest of the foreign-based players are not expected in camp until after this weekend since most of them will be involved in league matches.

Harambee Stars squad of local based players intensified training at City Stadium on Tuesday ahead of the crucial qualifier.

Kenya are at the bottom of Group F of the qualifiers with a point from two matches following a barren stalemate against Malawi at home followed by a 1-0 defeat to Namibia away.

Stars are due to clash with the Super Eagles on March 23 at the U. J. Esuene Stadium in Calabar.
