Second half goals from Peter Opiyo (68th), Andrew Sekayomba (72nd) and Joseph Shikokoti (81st) enable the Kenya champions qualify in the lucrative tourney
The win enabled Tusker to make it to the first round of the tournament with a healthy 7-1 aggregate. Peter Opiyo (68th), Andrew Sekayomba (72nd) and Joseph Shikokoti (81st) scored for the Kenyan champions.
Tusker, going into the match on a 4-1 win in the first leg showed little ambition especially in the first half. Their opponents were the more adventurous side and created more chances.
Ugandan import Robert Omunik had the first chance to break the deadlock from an eighth minute free-kick which however, went begging.
Then two minutes later, Nelson Laurence weaved his way inside the Tusker defense but could not execute the final shot for goal.
The visitors then had another opportunity to go ahead in the 25th minute when Don Anacoura with a rasping shot missed the target by a whisker.
Afterwards the match got a little physical and Jean Delor was booked for rough play on Luke Ochieng. The tide turned a little and the brewers upped the pressure on their opponents winning the first corner in the process with nine minutes to the break.
Tusker kept the pressure even as the second half kicked off and Michael Olunga nearly put the hosts ahead when he turned to shoot in goal but he was off target just a little.
The visitors replied with their own effort in the 50th minute but Nelson Laurence shot wide. After this, Tusker were practically in charge of the proceedings and Jesse Were's free-kick from the edge of the box troubled Nelson Sopha in the St.Michel goal.
It was always a question of when the home side would go ahead and second half substitute Peter Opiyo opened the scoring with a perfect header in the 68th minute after Jesse Were had placed the ball well for him from a corner.
Two minutes later Andrew Sekayomba made it 2-0 and the game appeared over for the visitors.
Tusker's Jesse Were was guilty of an open miss in the 80th minute banging the ball on the St.Michel's goalkeeper.
Joseph Shikokoti made up for it with Tusker's third goal one minute later after the referee ruled the ball had crossed the line.
