Harambee Stars coach Adel Amrouche beefs up squad for World Cup qualifier

Six players have been added into the provisional squad of Harambee Stars, who will assemble next week to start preparations for next month’s World Cup qualifier against Nigeria's Super Eagles.

The six – Chemelil Sugar goalkeeper Fredrick Onyango, Aboud Omar, Chrispin Odula (Bandari), Mohammed Hassan (KRA), Sofapaka defender Collins Kisuya and Bob Mugalia – make the team’s additional list released by Belgian coach Adel Amrouche.

As exclusively reported by Goal.com on Tuesday, Tusker’s promising striker Michael Olunga makes the squad alongside AFC Leopards' duo of striker Allan Wanga, Edwin Wafula and Sofapaka’s Eugine Asike, both who have been recalled.

The 19-year-old striker, a former student at Upper Hill High School and a product of Liberty Academy, will be making his maiden appearance for Kenya.

Olunga has been impressive since joining the brewers and was in the score sheet when they beat St.Michel 4-1 in the Caf Champions League preliminary round away in Seychelles a fortnight ago.

Defenders: Edwin Wafula (AFC Leopards), James Situma (Sofapaka), Abdalla Juma (Sofapaka), Collins Kisuya (Sofapaka), Aboud Omar (Bandari), David Owino (Gor Mahia), David Ochieng (Tusker), Eugene Asike (Sofapaka), Mulinge Munandi (Ulinzi Stars).

Midfielders: Chrispin Odula (Bandari), Antony Akumu (Gor Mahia), Antony Kimani (Sofapaka), Peter Opiyo (Tusker), Daniel Onyango (Western Stima), Kevin Omondi (Gor Mahia).

Strikers: Bob Mugalia (Sofapaka), Francis Kahata (Thika United), Paul Were (AFC Leopards), Jesse Were (Tusker), Rama Salim (Gor Mahia), Michael Olunga (Tusker), Allan Wanga (AFC Leopards), Mohammed Hassan (KRA).
