Sofapaka head coach David Ouma is relishing the prospects of facing his old boss Salim Ali when they take on Ulinzi Stars in a Kenya Premier league (KPL) match at Afraha Stadium, Nakuru on Friday.

Ali was Ouma’s boss at Sofapaka before the latter was sacked to land the job at Ulinzi Stars. Speaking ahead of Friday’s match, Ouma predicted a very entertaining game but challenging in equal measure owing to the fact that both coaches went through the same kind of training.

“It will be an entertaining but very challenging game against them (Ulinzi) more so because we were colleagues here at Sofapaka."

"The entertaining part will come in the sense that we are both Dutch trained so share the same school of thought,” Ouma told Sofapaka’s official website.

Despite the stakes, coach Ouma affirmed that he will be going all out for maximum points to aid in Sofapaka’s push for the Tusker Premier League (TPL) title at the end of the season.

“Despite the similarities we share, I will be going all out for a win. I do not want to share my tactics at the moment, but we are eying all the three points."

"The team is well motivated and we are also aiming at bigger honors at the end of the season so a win at Afraha will assist in that.”

Both Sofapaka and Ulinzi won their respective opening fixtures last weekend. Sofapaka, who won the league in 2009, edged out Thika United 1-0 at City Stadium while Ulinzi dispatched newcomers Bandari FC by similar margin at Afraha Stadium.
