Despite being suspended for this weekend's Caf Confederation Cup match, Gor Mahia midfielder Anthony 'Teddy' Akumu will still travel with the team to Seychelles.
Gor Mahia will take on Anse Reunion on Saturday in the return leg match. Akumu was sent off in the first leg match two weeks ago for committing a professional foul ruling him out of the return leg.
Gor Mahia Secretary General George Bwana however, confirmed that they are carrying the player, who was voted the best midfielder of the year in 2012, so as to motivate his colleagues.
"Teddy is a very disciplined player and the red card was unfortunate. He is also a key member of our squad and we felt it wise to carry him along so that he can motivate the rest of the players," Bwana told Goal.com.
