Gor Mahia have been boosted with the return from injury of top striker Rama Salim ahead their Caf Confederations Cup match against Anse Reunion of Seychelles on Saturday.
Salim has been doubtful since he failed to start against Tusker during last weekend's DSTv/ SuperSport Cup at Nyayo Stadium in a match Gor Mahia won 5-4 on post match penalties.
The player has been declared fit by coach Zradvko Logarusic who said his return is a positive move for the club. "He had an injury and that is why we did not start him against Tusker. His return gives us plenty of options upfront," Logarusic told Goal.com.
Salim's partnership with Dan Ssrenkuma has been lethal for Gor scoring crucial goals as the club went on to finish second last year. Logarusic also hinted at the prospects of starting Joseph Njuguna in place of Anthony Akumu, who was red carded during the first leg match.
Logarusic at the same time said he has worked on the team’s striking force which was a major let down in the first leg that ended in a barren draw and he remains confident his strikers will score in Seychelles.
He also admitted that the DSTv Cup win against Tusker is a morale booster to the team ahead of their weekend fixture.
"The win against Tusker has given us a lot of confidence as we head to Seychelles. It raises our spirits and self-belief in camp and we hope it can push us against Anse Reunon." Gor needed a scoring draw to be assured of a first round qualification.
