Ulinzi Stars goalkeeper Jacktone Odhiambo eyes clean sheet in 2013 season

The keeper was in good shape pulling off some great saves on a one on one situation to propel the army men past newcomers Bandari in the opening match at Afraha

Ulinzi Stars custodian Jacktone ‘Riky’ Odhiambo would have easily walked off with the man of the match performance on Sunday as they beat Bandari 1-0 at the Afraha Stadium in Nakuru.

Odhiambo pulled off some wonderful saves on a one on one situations to keep his first clean sheet of the season.

The custodian now says coming into the new season, one of his main targets is to reduce the number of goals he conceded last season.

“I put a target of reducing the number of goals I concede as well as keeping more cleansheets. This is the first one and I intend to keep more,” he told the club's official website.

“I want to be among the top goalkeepers when the league ends and that means I keep consistency and work hard as much as possible."

“The most important thing however, is that the team won and we started the league on a good footing. Our intention is to be consistent in the games that follow. It is a long season and we want to keep good results throughout."

Ulinzi captain Wycliffe Ochomo, who scored the all important goal in the 46th minute,  is confident the team will build on from the victory.

“We wanted to start the league positively and winning our first match was very key. I am happy that I have begun the league on a scoring note and I do not want to stop here."
