The 2012 Kenya Premier League top scorer, was among five players who were honored on Tuesday night when the club also unveiled it's new signings for the season
Veteran Sofapaka striker John Barasa has been named the team's best player for last season. The player received a double fete when he was also named the top striker.
Barasa was among five players who were honored on Tuesday night at a Nairobi hotel when the club also unveiled it's new signings for the season.
Others who were honored are Duncun Ochieng (Best goalkeeper), Eugine Asike (best defender), James Situma (best midfielder) and David Okello (most disciplined player).
On the other hand, the team has brought on board ten players to beef up their squad ahead of the new squad.
They include Enock Agwanda, Koko Manupi, Charles Ouma, Hillary Echesa, Ken Oduor, Julius Sinoka, Titus Mulama, Obadiah Tirumbwa, Collins Kisuya and Patrick Kagogo.
Speaking during the ceremony, Sofapaka chairman Elly Kalekwa said the team is focussed on winning this seasons league and challenged his players and technical bench to repay back the support accorded to them by lifting the 2013 title.
"We have given you everything you need now it is upto you to reciprocate by winning the league," he told the players.
Kalekwa said the club will also focus on selling more players abroad this year in order to raise their standards of play.
