The former Burundi tactician promises to focus on development aspects of the game as James Nandwa and Ken Odhiambo are retained in the technical bench

Belgian national Adel Amrouche was finally unveiled on Wednesday as Harambee Stars coach with a promise to focus on the development aspects of the game.

The entire technical bench that did duty with the team in Tunisia during a friendly match against Libya was retained with James Nandwa keeping his position as assistant coach. Ken Odhiambo is the other assistant coach in the team.

Amrouche warned against expecting quick results insisting that it will take time to start experiencing positive results.

"The problem in Africa is that sometimes we expect quick results. This does not work. We need to develop before we can expect to get any results. Even crops take time to grow from the time they are planted," he told Goal.com.

Amrouche said he will open the door for all talented players to represent the country and has already identified several who have never been given a chance.

"I have made a list of all the Kenyan players based abroad and some of them have never been called to the team. I want to say today that under my tenure they together with any local players who have the talent will have an opportunity to represent this country," he said.

He emphasised on good preparations insisting that this is what will help the team do well.

"There is no question about it. I have talked with Football Kenya Federation (FKF) and we both agree that there is need to have good preparations especially against Nigeria next month.

"It will be a major motivation playing the Super Eagles after their triumph at the Africa Cup of Nations finals," said the coach.

Speaking at the same function, Kenya FA President Sam Nyamweya praised the new coach and said he fits their vision of a youthful coach to help them develop the sport.

"We were not interested in a big name but in someone who is able to grow with us in our journey to take football to the next level," said Nyamweya.

Nyamweya however, declined to reveal the details of the coach's contract though it is believed to be a two year deal.

He defended the federation against accusations that they mistreated the team during their friendly match against Libya in Tunisia three weeks ago.

Sports Minister Ababu Namwamba, who was present at the function, urged team sponsors East Africa Breweries Limited (EABL) to consider paying the salary of the coach.
