The league side, currently in its second season in the top flight, is expected to unveil a sponsorship agreement with Muhoroni Sugar over the next few days.
A source told Goal.com that the players were introduced to officials from the Sugar Company on Friday. The source could, however, not divulge details entailed in the sponsorship deal or for how long it will run.
“The players have met the company officials who broke the good news on Friday morning. Everyone associated with the team is delighted. This is a big bonus and motivation wise, the sky is now the limit in terms of performances.”
Earlier, club Chairman Moses Adagala revealed to Goal.com that the club was in dire need of financial incentives so as to effectively deal with the challenges that slowed down the team last season.
“Part of last season was challenging. At some point we managed to limp through the finish line due to the determination from the playing squad and technical bench. I am currently in talks with three companies with a view to getting some financial support. If achieved, this will go a long way in making this side stable."
Muhoroni Youth finished the previous league campaign in 14th position with 27 points. The team which has recruited Nigerian striking duo Abass Akinyemi and Joseph Emeka begin the 2013 league season with a home tie against Thika United on February 23.
