New acquisition Michael Olunga notched the all important goal to silence the Barrack Ouma coached powermen. The brewers’, who will represent the country in Africa Champions League, face Division One side Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) in another build up on Sunday.
Bandari continued with their impressive run in pre-season after edging out Spark Youth 1-0 in a Hussein Terry Super Cup tie played at Mombasa Sports Club.
Bandari’s lone goal came via Ahmed Abdalla in the 20 minute. Elsewhere, Ulinzi Stars came from a goal down to play out to a one-all draw with Division One side Finlays Horticulture at the Finlays grounds in Naivasha.
Gitonga Samuel gave the hosts the lead in the early minutes of the first half before Mulinge Ndetto equalized from the spot with minutes left in the match. The game was of high tempo with both teams playing their strategies to the latter.
Ulinzi Stars will be back in Naivasha next Thursday where they are set to face off with another Division One side Oserian at their backyard.
Thika United FC had to settle for a barren draw against the Naivasha-based top tier side Karuturi Sports.
The two sides fought it out to the last minute. The Brookside sponsored Thika side were the more aggressive of the two teams but their efforts bore no fruits, as the Thika forwards shot blanks in the mid-morning duel.
Thika United plans one more high profile build up match before the 2013 TPL season kick-off. Meanwhile, Sofapaka beat Division One side Posta Rangers 1-0 in another friendly while Kenya Commercial Bank beat Karuturi Sports 3-1.
