The position has been vacant since Frenchman Henry Michel resigned in December last year.
Kenya FA President Sam Nyamweya revealed to Goal.com during a breakfast meeting to honour the team’s recent emphatic 3-0 victory over Libya, that the new coach will be unveiled soon.
“We have interviewed three coaches and we will settle for one soon to work with the current technical bench team of James Nandwa, who have done exemplary well since they were given the mandate to take charge of the team.”
The FKF supremo added that they are looking to settle on a coach who will at least be able to speak English language to starve off communication problems that dogged Michel.
“We do not want to disrupt the current technical bench (under Nandwa), which must be given the credit for masterminding victory over Libya, one of the best results during the Fifa international friendly week.”
“We are organizing high profile friendly matches for the national team and next month we have two possible encounters against Egypt or another match against Congo Brazzaville.”
The Stars players’ present led by assistant captain Duncan Ochieng were given remaining allowances plus bonuses totaling to Sh550, 000 for the victory over Libya.
