Division One side Rangers insist two of their players with Kenyan Premier League (KPL) side AFC Leopards have to rejoin the team immediately.

Rangers chairman Yobes Ongeri said Charles Okwemba and Victor Ochieng have no choice but to rejoin the team despite having running contracts with Leopards.

“They are employees of Postal Corporation of  Kenya (PCK) first and foremost and their allegiance is to Rangers. They either come back and play for Rangers or they risk being transferred outside Nairobi to concentrate on work and this could kill their football careers," Ongeri told Goal.com.

The PCK who sponsor Rangers have written to Leopards to release the two players so that they can represent them in the Division One league as they seek to earn qualification next season.

Leopards officials on Tuesday insisted that the two have running contracts and cannot just break them and return to Rangers.

According to Leopards organizing secretary Timothy Lilumbi, Okwemba has a contract until June while Ochieng’s contract runs out in December.

“This are legal contracts and must be respected by all parties. We cannot just allow them to leave. It will be a serious breach of contract,” said Lilumbi.
