Goals from Ivan Anguyo and Dan Sserenkuma inspired K'ogalo to the final of the inauguraln 'peace' tournament played at Moi Kasarani
Despite fielding an almost completely new side, Mathare United were clearly the better side in the entire first half and it was therefore, no surprise when they went ahead in the 15th minute through Gabriel Nduru's well taken strike.
Gor Mahia equalized in the 43rd minute through last season's Kenyan Premier League (KPL) best player Dan Sserenkuma who scored from the penalty spot after Lloyd Wahome was judged to have brought down Rama Salim.
The Ivan Anguyo's header in the 89th minute ensured Gor qualified for the final. Anguyo headed home from a Sserenkuma cross that appeared to have caught Joseph Ruto in United's goal off his line.
Both teams showed a sense of urgency in the second half keen to finish matters in normal time. Paul Kiongera had the first chance to put Gor ahead but his 48th minute effort was too weak to disturb Joseph Ruto in the Mathare United goal.
Two minutes later, Mathare United had their chance to go ahead but Kevin Ochieng's well taken free-kick was put out by Jerim Onyango for a fruitless corner.
As the match progressed, second half substitute Anguyo hit the United goal post with a well struck shot but Kiongera was too slow to complete the rebound.
Gor were the better side as the match progressed to the end and deserved to win this match.
