Gor Mahia have pulled another first one on the local Kenyan Premier League (KPL) scene by becoming the first team to introduce season tickets for their fans.

In a move that is aimed at replicating top European leagues, Gor fans will now have an opportunity to purchase tickets in advance beginning from this Friday.

According to the club's secretary general George Bwana, a member will pay Sh6,000 for a season ticket which will allow them to watch all Gor Mahia home matches.

He said for now the season tickets will only be applicable to the VIP stand and terrace season tickets will be introduced next year depending on how the current arrangement works out.

"It is a new era for our club because for the first time fans can have an opportunity to purchase tickets in advance and enjoy the benefits that come with it," Bwana exclusively told Goal.com.

Among the advantages to be enjoyed by season ticket holders include entry to matches through a special gate. The holders will also receive discounted rates at partner hotels, local airlines and holiday resorts.

Another benefit will be express entry to international matches involving the club as well as friendly matches. The new move will help the club to raise funds in advance before the season kicks-off.

The money will supplement Gor's Sh15million a year sponsorship from Tuzo Milk. Gor finished runners-up in the KPL last season and are chasing four trophies this season among them the league, Football Kenya Cup, KPL top eight and the Confederations Cup.
