AFC Leopards striker Ochieng' hints at quitting club if contract row is not resolved
Ochieng together with Charles Okwemba have been asked by their employer to go back to Division One side Rangers, who have acquired sponsors
AFC Leopards forward Victor Ochieng says he is ready to leave the club if a disagreement over his contract is not resolved soon.
Ochieng together with midfielder Charles Okwemba have been asked by their employer to go back to Division One side Rangers FC, who have acquired sponsorship from Postal Corporation of Kenya (PCK).
The company last week wrote to Leopards to release the two players insisting that it is not their policy to allow their employees to turn out for other clubs.
Ochieng said he will not compromise his job for the sake of playing for Leopards and complained that the matter is taking too long to be resolved.
“If I have to make a decision, then it will have to be to leave Leopards and secure my job. We have had several meetings over the same but no solution is forth-coming from both sides," Ochieng told Goal.com.
“I still have a contract at Leopards until the end of this season but at the same time, I also have to secure my job."
Ochieng joined Leopards from Chemelil Sugar last season after a half a season at Rangers. Rangers were relegated from the Kenyan Premier League last season and are hoping to come back next year.
