Gor Mahia will take on Mathare in the first semi-final starting 9am while Western Stima will confront Sofapaka FC in the second semi at 11 am
AFC Leopards have surprisingly missed out on a chance to participate in the inaugural Kenya Power Charity Cup set for Moi Kasarani on February 2.
Ingwe’s rivals Gor Mahia will have the opportunity to clinch first silver ware of the season, as they are among the four seeded teams. Others include Mathare United, Sofapaka and Western Stima.
Gor Mahia were seeded top after garnering 12989 votes, Western Stima came second on 7585, Sofapaka were third after accumulating 6789 votes and Mathare United were seeded fourth after bagging 6163 votes. AFC Leopards missed out after finishing fifth on 6153 votes.
Gor Mahia will now take on Mathare United in the first semi-final starting 9am while Western Stima will confront Sofapaka in the second semi at 11 am. The winning team will carry home Sh840, 000 ($10,000) and a trophy, runners-up Sh480, 000 ($6,000) while the third and fourth placed teams will each pocket Sh164, 000 ($2,000). VIP tickets will sale for Sh1, 000 with those for terrace going for Sh200.
Electronic tickets for the one day tournament will go on sale starting Friday night. In total, 22 teams were considered for the Charity Cup; the 16 that took part in the 2012 Kenyan Premier League and the best three teams from Division one – the best three from Zone A and Zone B.

The Kenya Power Charity Cup is a new tournament initiated by the Kenya Power and Lighting Company (Kplc) in partnership with the Football Kenya Federation (Fkf), the Kenyan Premier League (Kpl) and the Kenya Red Cross Society (Krcs).
