Ibrahim Kitawi, Francis Akango and Duncan Owiti have been rendered jobless after they were sent packing by the Kawangware-based clubFormer Gor Mahia players Ibrahim Kitawi, Francis Akango and Duncan Owiti have been rendered jobless after they were sent packing by Nairobi City Stars as preparation for the new season takes shape.
Also axed is Alex Nyamaweno. While confirming the developments, club chairman Peter Jabuya told Goal.com, that they have just worked on the recommendations of the technical bench who wanted a lean squad.
“All clubs are preparing for pre-season and so we are. It was a decision made by the technical bench and we have to respect it. We gave them a free hand and we do not want to interfere with their (technical bench) choice of players.”
Kitawi has had two separate stints with Gor Mahia and another stint with reigning champions Tusker FC. He is best remembered for his illustrious 2010 season in which he helped K’ogalo finish as league runners up behind Ulinzi Stars forming deadly partnership with George ’Blackberry’ Odhiambo who interestingly joins the outfit as he exits.
Duncan Owiti and Akango also turned up for K’ogalo in the same season. Just two days ago, the club landed the signatures of Blackberry, and Kevin ‘Master’ Omondi.
