The former Tusker ace brings wealth of experience to Batoto ba Mungu after professional stints in Tanzania where he turned out for giants Simba SC
The Kenyan international midfielder has agreed a one year renewable deal with the 2009 league champions.
Echesa brings wealth of experience to the Batoto ba Mungu after professional stints in Tanzania where he turned out for Simba SC and in Malaysia earlier on in his career. Locally he featured for Tusker FC, Ulinzi Stars and the then top flight club Nzoia Sugar.
Sofapaka President Elly Kalekwa confirmed the acquisition. “Yes. We have acquired him (Echesa). He left for Malaysia to seek a deal but that didn’t go through so we have welcomed him back to the KPL. He is a natural attacking midfielder so we expect him to fill the gap left by Humprey Mieno (who has transferred to Azam),” Kalekwa told Goal.com.
Echesa is in line to face Mieno this Sunday, when Sofapaka host Azam in a friendly encounter at the Nyayo Stadium.
The ice cream makers who also have two other Kenyans - Ibrahim Shikanda and Joackins Atudo - are scheduled to arrive on Thursday and will also play AFC Leopards on Saturday.
