The cash rich outfit, who are managed by coach Stewart Hall, are expected in Nairobi after winning Mapinduzi Cup and are lined to play Sofapaka and AFCTanzanian club Azam FC are set to tour Kenya for a series of friendly matches on Saturday and Sunday.
The cash rich outfit, who are managed by former Sofapaka coach Stewart Hall, are fresh from clinching the annual Mapinduzi Cup tournament held in Zanzibar after edging out Kenya champions Tusker 2-1 in extra time following a hotly contested final.
"Its true. Azam should arrive on Thursday and we will play them on Saturday at a yet to be confirmed venue. Details of the match tickets and other logistics will also be revealed in the course of the week," Sofapaka President Elly Kalekwa confirmed to Goal.com.
"Azam also wish to play AFC Leopards and Gor Mahia, but we are not the ones arranging that. It is pre season for us and mid-season for them, so this match is an ideal build up for all the teams that will be involved."
This will be the first time the Cecafa finalists, renown for expensive signings, will be touring Kenya since gaining promotion to the top flight of the Tanzanian league in the 2008/2009 league season. The team boasts of three Kenyan players Ibrahim Shikanda, Humphrey Mieno and Joackinsm Atudo in its ranks.
