The defeat complicates the matrix for Auxerre having suffered a similar loss to Angers in their second last match of the 2012 calendar year

Kenyan international and AJ Auxerre hit man Dennis Oliech began his football New Year day on a wrong footing as his side suffered a 1-2 home defeat to Caen in a French ligue two match played at the Stade de Abbe Deschamps on Saturday.

The defeat complicates the matrix for Auxerre having suffered a similar loss to Angers in their second last match of the 2012 calendar year.

On Saturday, they were made to rally from two goals down to strike in the 81st minute through Ruddy Hadda  after the visitors had taken a strong command in the game courtesy of strikers fromAlwzandere Cuvillier andFaysac Fajr in the 52nd and 67th minutes respectively.
 
The defeat now leaves Auxerre rooted at position twelve in the twenty team table with 24 points from twenty games. They are 13 points adrift of leaders and former Oliech's club Nantes. Caen is second on 36 points same as third placed Monaco which has an inferior goal difference.

Oliech is expected to lead his sides attacks once again on February 22 when his side hosts fourth placed Guingamp.
