Second half goals from new recruit Jesse Were and Luke Ochieng' ensured that the Kenyan champions reach the final after an impressive show

Kenyan representatives at the ongoing Mapinduzi Cup competition in Zanzibar Tusker FC continued with their impressive form in pre season by defeating host team Miembeni 2-0 in a one sided semi-final clash staged on Thursday.

The result ensured the Kenya league champions book a date with the competition's defending champions Azam FC from Tanzania, in what is expected to be a hotly contested final on Saturday.

Tusker FC's team manager Willis Waliaula revealed to Goal.com that his charges - who will miss the services of head coach Robert Matano in the final - had set their targets on clinching the trophy.

"Don't be deceived. Each game (in this tournament) has been tough, and we expect the final to be close as well. But overall, I am very impressed with the way this squad - comprising 16 new players - is gelling.""

We have had a chance to watch them (Azam) play and therefore, know what to expect in the final. The squad is not afraid of Kenyan players Mieno (Humphrey) and Atudo (Joakins)  - who play for Azam."

"These players might know our team but we know them very well. Assistant coach George Maina will be in charge for the final as the coach (Robert Matano) is in Egypt for a Caf course that ends on Saturday."

Second half goals from new recruit Jesse Were and Luke Ochieng' ensured that the Kenyan registered their third win against a separate host side in ten days. Tusker had earlier beaten Bandari and Jamuhuri enroute to the final.

Azam booked an appointment with Tusker after defeating compatriots Simba SC on post match penalties in the other last four encounter. Atudo and Mieno scored for Stewart Hall's side in the 2-2 draw in regulation time.
