Ulinzi chairman confirmed through the club’s official website that the move is aimed at motivating the squad ahead of the 2013 season.
“Though we did not perform to our level be last year, there are individual players who fought and gave their all for the team. Such is the kind we want to award on Friday.”
“This is a way of motivating them to work harder while also challenging the rest to up their efforts and ensure they get to be awarded next year,” added Chairman Lt. Col. JS Mwinyikai.
Some of the awards to be dished out include best goalkeeper, best defender, best midfielder, top scorer, most disciplined player, chairman’s award and overall best player.
“Fans will be involved in the selection process as they will vote through the team’s official Facebook and Twitter pages. Their votes will not determine the final result but will be considered by the management when tallying the final awards.”
