Ulinzi secretary captain Joe Birgen revealed to Goal.com that the striker, who scored nine goals last term, is still under contract with the army men until December 2013, and “we are not interested in listening to offers for him.”
“Ochomo is not going anywhere. His contract expires in December 2013 and we need his services for the 2013 season. As at now…no offers have been tabled for the striker and I don’t think we are in a position to discuss the same.”
Rumors have been going round that Ochomo, who was signed from Gor Mahia at the start of the 2012 campaign and signed a two year contract with the soldiers, had joined newcomers Bandari FC.
Birgen confirmed that the team will unveil new coach Salim Ali on Monday. Ali took the reigns at the army men and will be assisted by Sammy Simiyu, who was in charge during the last campaign.
“We are assembling for pre-season on Sunday and coach Salim Ali will be unveiled on Monday. We will also be recruiting players’ from within our set up ahead of the campaign.”
