Kenya champions Tusker FC complete Tanzania tour with another win over Simba

Goals from new acquisition Jesse Were (2) and Fredrick Onyango ensure that the brewers wind up their tour with two wins having beaten Yanga
Kenya Premier League (KPL) champions Tusker FC wrapped up their tour of Tanzania with a hundred percent record by outclassing Simba SC 3-0 in a one-sided friendly played at the National Stadium in Dar es Salaam on Saturday.

The visitors who began their Dar es Salaam visit by defeating another Tanzanian side Yanga FC 1-0, got off to the best possible start after new signing Jesse Were gave them the lead midway through the first half.

Were - who's crossed over from Mathare United - added his second on the stroke of half-time before Fredrick Onyango' netted his first and Tusker's third of the match in the second half.

Simba controlled the match from start but were wasteful with the opportunities they created, but the brewers' hit back strongly shortly before the break, scoring twice in ten minutes.

Were's first goal was a powerful finish after he cleverly beat central defenders Malian Komanbil Keita and Hassan Khatib to lob past advancing goalkeeper Wilbert Mweta, while the second was a clean finish, as he connected home a neat pass from Ismael Dunga.

Simba were dead and buried shortly after the restart when Onyango headed in the third in 53rd minute, this time capitalizing on the aerial bombardments that gave Simba defenders hectic moment.

It could have been more for the Kenyan champions had Were and other strikers not blown golden chances, but the visitors still had enough for a second straight win in their friendly against Dar es Salaam giants.

Tusker defeated Yanga FC 1-0 on Wednesday in their first friendly match with Dunga scoring the lone goal from the spot.

Tusker coach Robert Matano was elated by the win. "It was a good build up and this result will build up our morale. I am impressed and satisfied," Matano told
