After missing out on AFC coaching job, Portuguese Salvador now turns to Stars

Salvador, who currently handles Benfica (Portuguese Super Liga) reserve team, has been linked with the vacant position at Harambee Stars
The list of potential candidates for the next Harambee Stars coach continues to swell with each passing day after Portuguese coach Victor Salvador confirmed that he had applied for the job.

Earlier this week, Football Kenya Federation (FKF) acting vice-chairman Robert Asembo revealed that the replacement for Frenchman Henri Michel - who quit the post this month following a contractual tussle - was likely to be unveiled by mid January.

"We are working behind the scenes, we don't want to jeopardize the national team's preparations against Burundi (in the Chan return leg qualifier). I am sure we'll have a new man in charge after the Burundi game."

Salvador who currently handles the Benfica (Portuguese Super Liga) reserve team, has recently been widely linked with the vacant position at premiership side AFC Leopards.

"I got a call from a federation official who asked me to drop my CV on the official federation email address .It is a great honor to be even be considered or shortlisted. That is all I can say for now."

Other tacticians rumored to be in the running for the Stars job include Gor Mahia coach Zravko Logarusic and former Burundi coach Adel Amrouche.
