Batoto Ba Mungu tactician confirms to Goal.com that they have started negotiations to renew the striker's contract and dismisses exit talks
The 25 year-old's situation at the Batoto Ba Mungu has been under speculation, after the player struggled to maintain the impressive form of the past two seasons that earned him admirers and a call up to the Kenya national team.
However, Ouma reveals that the Congolese international, who switched his allegiance to Kenya two years ago, is staying put.
"Yes he (Mugalia) struggled last term, but this was due to personal issues that have been resolved. That doesn't take away the talent he has, we are negotiating a renewal of his contract and hopefully an understanding will be reached. He wants to remain and we want him to remain," Ouma told Goal.com.
Sofapaka has in the past turned down lucrative bids for Mugalia from Gor Mahia, Azam (Tanzania) and El merreikh (Sudan).
