Sofapaka FC President Kalekwa reveals to Goal.com that the two clubs have agreed that the midfielder joins the Dar-based club on a six month deal
Sofapaka President Elly Kalekwa revealed to Goal.com that the two clubs have reached an agreement that Mieno switches to the ice-cream making club on a six month deal.
“We have released Mieno and he will play for Azam for the coming six months. The contract has a clause that if he (Mieno) gets a call for trials in Europe, then Azam will release him.”
Mieno now joins another Kenyan Joackins Atudo at the Dar-based club. Atudo joined the side coached by former Sofapaka coach Stewart Hall a week ago.
Elsewhere, the 2009 champions have joined the race to sign defender Collins Kisuya.
Kisuya - a former AFC Leopards and Ulinzi Stars player - is back in the country after a one and a half year stint in Belgium at top flight side Germinal Beershort.
Kisuya confirmed to Goal.com that he had trained with the team and a deal was in the offing.
“Yes I have been training with Sofapaka and we are almost striking a deal. All the paperwork could be completed in a few days time.”
